(As a suggestion, take a clean nylon sock & put one cup of fresh coffee grounds in it tie it off and put it into your freezer) this will help absorb most any odors.
- Any items that are permanently nailed, taped, screwed or stapled to the wall that you plan on shipping must be removed by you.
- Please do not remove nick-nacks and pictures from the walls and stack on the floor or counter tops.

- Washers & dryers: must be disconnected by you, the shipper. Also on all washers (put your machine on the spin cycle, remove the drain hose from the wall & lower the hose to the height of a small trash can, start the machine on spin cycle & spin all excess water from the pump (make sure you have turned off the water going prior to this procedure) Disconnect the water lines from the wall.
- If you have a front loading machine, it is your responsibility to make sure you have the proper hardware (in accordance with the owners manuel) to lock the drum.
- Please make sure all nails in the hallways and tight areas have been removed from the walls to ensure that mattresses and furniture does not get scratched or torn while being carried out of the home.
- Animals: if you have cats, dogs or other small pets please make sure all litter boxes are properly cleaned, and you have a safe area to contain your pets in. This is for the safety of your pet as well as the safety of the movers. Moving can be very stressful on animals.
- Families with small children, it is best if you can find someone to care for your children outside the home. Your house will be very busy during a move and it’s much easier for you and the movers if the children are not under foot.
- Items you plan to take with you please find a safe zone (either a bathroom or a small separate area depending on the amount of items you’re taking with you). This will eliminate items accidently getting packed that you do not wish to be.
- Separate all progear into an area (military or government only).
- Commonly forgotten areas: bottom drawer of oven, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer
- Finally: at the time of completion of your move, do a complete walk -through of your home with the mover. Make sure you check every room, closets, storage areas as well as the garage and all shelving units inside and outside the home. This is to ensure that no items are forgotten or left behind.
